Okay...that PC vs Mac thing got me thinking. What is stopping people here from at least trying linux?
I know people say that software is limited. It's not. Really. It's actually nicer

I'm logged into AIM, MSN, and Yahoo all in one program. My browser is incredibly fast and has a nice MDI view. There is peer-to-peer software. And playing a nice bout of quake 3 is always a nice way to start the day in linux.
Hardware support is also a factor. Some hardware can be hard to set up, but using utilities included in RedHat or Mandrake, just about anything can be set up. Most drivers will be third-party drivers made by some German guy who knows how to reverse-engineer but that's alright! Some corporations are even beginning to support linux. Take a look at HP and NVidia. Many other companies use standards like USB mass storage.
Command line? Not neccisarily. It is possible to escape most of the command line woes. Many utilities have been created to help the user get away from the command line.
I'd like to know who has switched to linux and why. Also, why WONT people switch to linux. Lastly, what would make you switch to linux?
