now since 'water' is a bipolar molecule, and since the water could shift in the tank to the right side of the robot, therefore making it unstable and shifting toward the penalty zone.

the penalty zone could be a big hole - then a shift of the bipolar stuff could create a big pole in the right half plane causing the robot to fall into the dreaded big pole hole.

Is that a game hint? There'll be a big guy from Gdansk in the middle of the field, somehow affecting the robots? Or do we simply have to avoid a black hole in the middle of the field?

That's good because I've already had the team scour the local Walmarts and except for a few that had fallen behind the shelves, they were all out.

Oh, and to keep this on topic () the relativistic jets that form perpendicular to the accretion disk of a black hole would be another way of making a pole

And don't forget the telegraph poles. they are needed for teams to transmit the morse code that Dave has provided to signal the robots.

Once you have signaled the robot to use its fishing pole then the robot can avoided the dreaded pole hole and and use the fishing pole to catch moonfish from the water hole.

So there are actually two purposes for the water and multiple instances of poles.

Yes. We will get mad. We have very few left (Not that we ever had any...) and those aren't even to big.

My school just cut down 4 trees for a parking garage. If we only knew we could have gotten red dirt, we wouldn't have thrown them out.

You guys are being mean to the poster. It's quite obvious that the poster was referring to magnetic monoPOLES. This post has tremendous implications for FIRST teams. In case you are not aware, the existence of magnetic monopoles has been confirmed. Magnetic monopoles are not created. They are found in the cosmos. First robots tend to be chronically overweight. The addition of magnetic monopoles to the robot will allow FIRST teams to build fat obese robots that can come in underweight by the force of the monopoles reacting with the earths magnetic field. In light of this recent discover our team, team 1640, has investigated and developed a magnetic monopole detector. We are not going to release any details at this time. Hint, It looks like a divining rod with sensitive and sophisticated nano electronic embedded in it. Our intention is to assign the the monopole search and detection task to any student who becomes disruptive or unproductive during the build season. We also have some rookie mentors who may be suckered into supervising the students. Our High School campus covers several acres. A square foot by square foot search should keep them ocuppied and out of trouble.

You know, I suspected that right away, but I was thrown off by the question about setting an option for the pole.

I believe magnetic monopoles have no options, just like unobtainium, a materials solution for overweight robots.
