Any info on Design Award criteria?

I have been scouring the FRC site and Autodesk for details on the animation competition. Can't find anything! One banner ad I saw (autodesk site) said Coming Soon - and that details will be released on Jan 9... did not happen.

I know they've combined the Inventor and Animation awards into one award. And that you can use any Autodesk software, but at minimum use Maya or Max.

Re: Any info on Design Award criteria?

Rob,

I believe the animation competition is over for this year. They showed the winning animation for the 2010 season during Kick-off. If you mean the new award that they announced Autodesk is sponsoring, you should check Section 5 of the game manual where they list all the awards, and their discription. It also says where each award will be handed out. (e.g. Championship, regional, etc.)

I hope that answers your question!

That was the safety animation, not the Autodesk Design Award animation.

There is information about the award in section 5, but given what he already mentioned, it seems he has read it. In the past they have announced themes and other criteria about the animation around kick-off, but this year they didn't seem to. That is what he is in search of.

Re: Any info on Design Award criteria?

From what I have found on the FIRST website...

http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles...sk%20Award.pdf

the animation and inventor awards are still both being run. Inventor is only judged at nationals and animation is being judged at regionals and nationals.

the animation prompt for this year is: CHANGE YOUR WORLD

hope this helps.

Re: Any info on Design Award criteria?

True, I have read section 5 pdf. The link they provide does not have any more info. In years past, they have been late posting this. Last year I believe it showed up the Monday after kickoff.
Hope it gets up soon!
