Go to Post I don't think it's that big of a deal if FIRST makes a few mistakes or cuts back every now and then. Personally, I'm just glad I have the opportunity to be in this program. - Crop-Circles [more]

Re: 2010 Control System Manual

We opened up the file with the decryption code. Then we went to the security settings (top left lock icon in the document), deselected "require password to open", reselected it and set our own password. I have no idea why that worked, but we now have printed copies of all of the documents.

Good Luck!

Re: 2010 Control System Manual

We too are having trouble printing the control system manual. The above ideas didn't work for us. Anybody else have a suggestion? Thanks.

Re: 2010 Control System Manual

I think people who are able to change the security are using Adobe software that allows editing of PDF files - they are not using the free Reader to open these.

This may be true of those who are on school systems.

I tried the suggested methods - no luck. I tried Open Office also without success.

It would be simple if someone in FIRST went and removed the key. This has been done for the main competition manual so they should be able to re-post the open versions.
