Team 399's Chassis and Kicker Tests

This is my first post here, so I'm not sure this is the right section for this.

We tested the chassis and kicking mechanism.

Re: Team 399's Chassis and Kicker Tests

the kicking mechanism looks really effective. my only concern would be overshooting and getting a penalty.

go with a raised base for the chassis. we did that and so far it is working amazingly.

good luck, Team 2191

I love the chasis and the measurements seem perfect for the bump. My only concern is that if you look at the team updates they have changed the dimensions of the bump and that could be something, especially with your design, will cause problem for teams that will need to make new bumps or redesign what they have currently made.

I would love to know what method you are using for kicking the ball. Is it pneumatic, spring, or motor powered?

The dimensions of the bump have not changed, if you reference the drawings provided on kickoff.

It is motor powered.

We are planning on making different power settings for the kicker. Setting for a Far-Near kick, Mid-Near kick, etc.

Re: Team 399's Chassis and Kicker Tests

I wonder what would happen if you put a big weight on the chassis, centered where you think your Center of Mass (CG) will be, then roll the chassis over the bump without pushing downward on it.

Re: Team 399's Chassis and Kicker Tests

Jeremypg399, you proably don't know me personally but hopefully people talk about me some what. I was on 399 lasat year before I moved. Anyways, I still feel like I am on the same wave lengths because those ideas (motor powered, far kick, near kick, mid kick, etc. ) were my initial thoughts too. Good luck, hope to see you in atl.
