Question Keyboard control

Is there anyway to control the robot in labview using the keys on the keyboard? Is there a vi for this or is it custom?

Re: Keyboard control

It would pretty much have to be a custum vi, I think. However, playing around earlier with labview gave me a fairly good idea of how to do it, if anyone finds I'm wrong, feel free to correct me, but here goes.

Under the Connectivity -> Input Device Control tabs there are a couple of things you're going to need. You need to first open the reference to the keyboard ref, and wire it into the Aquire Input vi. You'll then need an "unbundle by name" from the clusters set. And then just wire up a case structure with what you need. If you need more help, I can elaborate some more.

Re: Keyboard control

In competition, other than the spacebar and F1, no.
The Driver Station, to which we don't have source access, only takes inputs from joysticks, the IO board, and the E-stop button.

But as whackedwatchdog says, it is possible just around school...
