Where is the red X

Ok, so we just downloaded all our LabView updates on the classmate. We logged into the driver account and the dashboard comes up but we cannot find a red X ANYWHERE. We looked under the Setup tab but no luck. We are not connected to the robot or anything wireless would that make a difference?

Re: Where is the red X

Sorry meant the red Exit button on the dashboard under the Setup tab. I looked in the manual and according to the photo there should be a red Exit button located in the bottom right hand corner...we don't have one...a red exit button that is...which means that we are having to Ctrl+Alt+Del to get out of the dashboard which is not recommended as we understand it...

Re: Where is the red X

Check to make sure you have the latest DS version. I'm not sure what the latest version, but it should be within a few months or so (but not like September).

http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/lang/en/id/1535

Post the DS Version from the Diagnostics tab if that update is already installed/does work.

Re: Where is the red X

you need the ds update, i could not find it at first either...

but i believe the combo of the "Windows button" and "L" should get you to the switch users screen so that you can access your developer account to update your DS.

By "windows button" i mean the little button with the windows flag, not exactly sure what its called

Re: Where is the red X

You need to do the driver station update (do the LabView one first, it prevents a problem with nicyapi.dll.)

Using Windows Key + L should do a switch user operation.

I hope this helps.

Re: Where is the red X

Using windows L will allow you to log in to Developer but will not log you out of Drivers Station. Our Classsmate runs REALLLLLLLY slow if we do not log out of Drivers Station. Using the red exit button under setup seems to be faster than windows L and logging off, but maybe it's just an illusion.

Re: Where is the red X

Another way to run both is to stay logged into only the developer account, and launch the driver station from the Start menu. Don't do this for an official field, but for development on a single computer, this is the recommended method. If using two computers, it may be preferable to have one be developer and one driver.

Re: Where is the red X

There are very specific directions for how to setup and run the Classmate, including Name and updates.

It would probably be wise (and save some time) to follow the directions.

Or you can hold the Shift key while the classmate boots up and then it will take it to the login screen where you can choose the developer login.

Yes that works, regardless, but there is a mandatory update referenced in the manual, as well as two other updates referenced in the 2010 Controller web page:
