The school's IT policy prevents using any of the computers in the classroom. No students have offered to use their personal computers. Using a USB keyboard and mouse with the 2go PC addresses two of the three issues. Thank you for the reply and suggestion.
The 2goPC laptop is a great idea, a rugged laptop dedicated to this activity. It is interesting that the laptop had everything preloaded except Workbench. If it had a VGA port it would be perfect. So trying the remote desktop was the next best way to use a full size keyboard, mouse and display. Clearly we are getting more options that help us get students involved with software. However, sometimes the issue is more fundamental than which software development platform to use.
