Re: Team 675 Kicker
It looks really cool, but is your team going to add something onto your robot that'll limit how far the ball will go in? Cause throughout the video I kept thinking that the ball would go into your robot a lot more than three inches.

Re: Team 675 Kicker
Yeah that surgical tubing was only a temporary fix, we are currently machining the stop as we speak. As well as adding the motors and transmissions etc. lol

Lol alright, cool. I figured that's what your team was doing, but just wanted to make sure.

Re: Team 675 Kicker
What kind of cylinders are you using? It did not look like the bimba cylinders and also how do you have the air line plumbed, Ionly see one line going to each cylinder. Very nice job.

Re: Team 675 Kicker
Spring return cylinders I would imagine? Looks good! Very similar to our kicker design, it makes me confident to see it work so well!

Re: Team 675 Kicker
The kicker looks really nice. Are you planning on using a roller? Also are you going to have variable firing distance with the kicker?

Re: Team 675 Kicker
Te respond to all of you.
They are Bimbas last time i checked, we ordered these this season I believe. For the purposes of testing it was just our shops air flow which is maxed out at about 120 psi, but we took it down to 60. We will have a compressor and 2 solenoids for the cylinders to make sure that it continues to work as shown. Last but not least those are mecanum wheels. and its not our prototype, that is actually our final chassis minus a few key components, transmissions, endgame piece, etc. |

Top provides the aired shots, and back allows the ground shots. both shot about 16-22 or so. But to answer variance it could be as easy just adjusting the amount of pressure we take from our compressor. I'll get back to you when i know more details |

I appreciate and understand what you are saying, but this is not our first rodeo. I don't know how your intending to come off as, but That wasn't exactly the best display of gracious professionalism. To clarify, most of the robot just wasn't on the chassis. Electronics, the motors and transmissions, The ball controller, are all off of the robot during this test. We have been able to successfully do things during build season the past 10 years. I appreciate your concern but we are going to be just fine. I hope that you do well during this season. Out of curiosity I would very much like to see your robot. you are welcome for design as well. |
