Wireless bridge issues

I am following the manual to set up the wireless bridge. I can access 192.168.1.250 and get to the login screen, but the credentials do not work. It worked once (kind of, i was able to get to the next page) but it kicked me back to the login page. Tried accessing with both a static and DHCP, router and direct connection. No idea on what to do. Please help

By credentials I assume you mean the user name and password. What password are you using? Try admin admin.

Yes. Once in a blue moon it lets me to the next page. But kicks me off after I click anything else.

Is it a brand new bridge? We had one last year that was defective last year. It would act like it was working - you'd log on, change settings, etc. - but when you rebooted it, it would go off into nowhere and need to be reset to get back into it. It seemed like the memory that it flashed the settings into was bad.

Out of expediency, we bought a new one locally. I spent about four hours over two days on the phone with Linksys Tech Support going through their scripted troubleshooting procedures before they authorized a RMA. We eventually received a replacement which we kept as a spare.

It's possible it could be a defective unit.

Try a hard reset of the unit to default settings, (If I recall correctly, it involves holding in the reset button for 30 seconds.) then follow the bench test steps exactly. Pay particular attention to changing your computer's IP settings after the bridge is set to it's 10.xx.xx.x address and rebooted. If you forget to change the computer, you'll lose communication with the bridge.

But, it doesn't sound like you are even getting that far.

When we set up our control system this year, I tried for nearly an hour to configure the WGA. It wouldn't accept the username and password. I finally got desperate and used Internet Explorer instead of Safari...and it worked.

Try using IE as the web browser if you're not already.

Re: Wireless bridge issues

Problem fixed. I decided to screw the instructions and follow my way. What I did, if anyone is having similar issues:

1. Set up the router with a static IP (10.33.32.4 for me)
2. Wire the bridge to the router and the router to the pc.
3. Run the install CD for the bridge, do the one touch wifi link thing it tells you not to do in the directions... You should now have the bridge wirelessly connected to the router. Plug bridge into crio.
4. Change PC IP and all back to static and what not. And bam it should work.
