Re: How to get the camera to show images on the dashboard?

If you've got your Dashboard all updated, then the next step is to make sure the camera is setup properly.

Hook the camera directly to the Classmate and use the "Setup Axis Camera" icon you'll find on the desktop.

P.S. Good news!

Does your Dashboard look like the picture on the left, or the one on the right?

Our dashboard looks like the one on the left. Is it suppose to look like the one on the right>?

Re: How to get the camera to show images on the dashboard?

Yes, that's probably the most common problem teams are running into.
The left one is from last September and doesn't work with the current camera feedback.

The one you want is the one on the right.

Two ways to get the correct one:
  • Delete the existing Dashboard files in: C:\Program Files\FRC Dashboard
  • Reinstall DSUpdate1.0
or

Re: How to get the camera to show images on the dashboard?

We have made the labview program to track the colors, but whenever we try to run it with the run button on top the deployment process starts and we get " Failed to connect to Real-Time Target" Error. WHAT IS GOING ON!! Tnx

I assume your cRIO is turned on and connected to your development system via Ethernet.

It's possible that you haven't changed the target IP address in the example. In the Project Explorer window, what is in parentheses on the cRIO target line? If it's 10.0.0.2, you need to right-click it and choose Properties, enter the appropriate number in the IP Address / DNS Name field (e.g. 10.15.14.2), and click OK.

If it's already 10.15.14.2, then you probably have something wrong with your network settings or wiring.

Re: How to get the camera to show images on the dashboard?

Hi from team 2135! I have a question pertaining to this and that is, is there any way to know that the driver's station is completely updated? We have gone through the process multiple times and are unsure whether it is completely updated.
Could this be why we can't get a camera image?

Thank you!

The updated dashboard has a circle flanked by a pair of triangles at the top of the video display, and a gyro heading indicator at the bottom of the right side of the window. These features are not present in the dashboard before the update.

Re: How to get the camera to show images on the dashboard?

You can also check the Dashboard.exe file creation date in C:\Program Files\FRC Dashboard

The original Classmate installation had a date of 9/22/2009.
The later one would be dated 2010.

The latest software for the Dashboard and Driver Station software for 2010 should have a compass in the bottom area of the Dashboard window. If not, then you probably have last years software. There is any update link on one of these pages that will update. I'll post it later if you can't find it since I don't have the time to look up the link. thought this would help though.
