Re: Bumer question...
If the bumpers are not in the bumper zone, then your robot will not pass inspection. If your chassis won't go into the bumper zone, then you need to make it do so. <R07> specifies all you would ever want to know about bumpers--well, other than the definitions of Frame Perimeter and Bumper Zone, which can be found in Section 8.2.
Bumpers out of the bumper zone are no longer bumpers; they are violations of <R16>. |

Re: Bumer question...
yes ... in "The Robot" section 8.2 of the manual Bumper Zone is defined as ... "the volume contained between two virtual horizontal planes, ten inches above the floor and sixteen inches above the floor" hope this helps

Re: Bumer question...
I'm not sure I understand, but you need to mount your bumpers to some part of your robot 10 inches high. Everything in your robot needs to be within the perimeter formed by the bumpers.

Re: Bumer question...
I mean like 2 floors of chassie that look the same , one is 10 inches high and nothing is beyond it.

Re: Bumer question...
That image is correct, assuming the proper distances. The bumpers must be mounted so that they remain between 10 and 16 inches from the floor, when on flat ground. Since the bumpers themselves are 5 inches wide, that gives you an inch of leeway.

Re: Bumer question...
They also must be fully backed by the robot frame. In your picture it looks like you are going to add post to mount the bumpers. That won't work.
