If you can ping, then your network is setup properly, and you should be able to see it. Similarly, if you can flash code into it, then this is working. There could still be an issue with a firewall or similar.
If you can't ping, its an issue with your network setup. |

disable your wired adapter. the IP stack on windows boxes gets confused when it has two adapters on the same subnet
