OTA Server Error

We have used a simple program which just utilizes 2 joysticks to move tank-style. When try to 'Run Main Project' to send the program to the robot, we get:

Connecting to FTP @10.33.35.2
upgrade:
Sending local file image.suite
flashapp:
deploy:
init:
Waiting to connect to OTA command server of 10.33.35.2:0001 for past x seconds

We waited about 2 minutes, and after assuming that nothing was occuring, other than the seconds increasing, we stopped the program. We have updated the cRIO image to version 19, and we have fully updated NetBeans.

Can someone help?

Re: OTA Server Error

1713 has the same issue, only after we upgraded to v20. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Although it seems the code stays on the robot if it's rebooted. Not sure why, but it runs.

EDIT: It seems a reboot of the cRIO fixed it.

Re: OTA Server Error

Thanks Ethan! It does seem a reboot of the robot after the v20 imaging solves the OTA Server Error

Re: OTA Server Error

I just saw this myself. To be specific, you need to reboot the cRIO manually after running Netbeans the first time after updating for v20.

Re: OTA Server Error

We are having the same problem after updating to v20. I have tried power cycling the cRIO and pressing the reset button. Neither of those actions corrected the problem.

Do you have any other suggestions that we could try?
Thanks in advance.

Drucifur,

In another post, 1168Programmer seems to have gotten past this issue (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...2&postcount=20)

If that post doesn't seem to help you, could you post your output? It could be a different problem...

Yes we were able to get our cRIO back into a state where we can download and run our code. However, late last night we discovered that we are only able to do so when the cRIO is not in safe mode. (We had forgotten to switch it back to safe mode after reimaging.) When I put it back into safe mode, we started getting the OTA server error again. Rebooting did not help.
Turning safe mode off allowed us to download and run code normally again. Has anyone encountered this before? I would like to be able to keep the cRIO in safe mode, but I suppose that is not completely neccessary...

Re: OTA Server Error

The safe mode toggle is not like safety goggles for the cRIO. It means that the cRIO will only load a small number of drivers. You do not want to have the safe mode dip on unless you are having problems with a corrupted image and want to flash or debug it.

Read the cRIO documentation if you want a more complete explanation of what the dips do.
