2791 has the weirdest phenomena I've ever seen. All of the kids drink coffee and the adults drink Monster. It seems backward.

Re: What fuels your team

we're getting by on a combination of Dew and those energy shot things. not sure what they're called, but I know I'm not touching those. I get really jittery on lots of caffeine, and that's asking for burnt fingers or bad pictures. or both.

On Saturdays, a mom brings in a ton of Throwback Pepsi and Dew. We also eat peanut butter filled pretzels!

Re: What fuels your team

'Route 44 Diet Coke with added Watermelon and Orange flavorings.'

How does that sound as a 'victory' drink for building a robot? One of our mentors can almost 'taste victory' and that is the taste.

Diet Coke is a staple for a couple of our mentors. The team is fed very well by our parents group who coordinates the meal sign-up/calendar. On the rare occasion that no one signs up, the team members are told in advance to bring their own snacks for that day. The drink of choice is often water.

If one is not careful with fueling with so much sugar/caffeine, it can become a nuisance/hindrance more than a help.

The programming mentors on 397 have a nasty habit of waking up at 11 for the 11 AM meeting, complaining it is too early to be awake and grabbing a handful of Amps...And some Pepsi...and occasionally a couple of Mountain Dews. Can you tell we are college students?

As for the students, Mt Dew seems to fuel them.

I don't know about the mentors, but the students on the Thunderchickens are fueled by a ton of Mountain Dew. Occasionally a Pepsi finds its way in, but its usually Dew, Dew, and more Dew.

It varies from day to day, depending on whose turn it is to bring in food - Lots of frozen burritos lately

The kids have also taken to mixing apple cider and hot chocolate mixes

Re: What fuels your team

We run on lots of pizza, whatever food parents bring, and LOTS of pop.

Last year we had an amazing "pop club" program with a mini-fridge full of Dew and other pop, but we lost our mini-fridge space this year.

I started bringing my own pop, but other team members started stealing it (they didn't know it was mine). Now I bring a cooler of pop every day and they reimburse me for it. They've started demanding pop with higher caffeine content, so I've switched from Dew to Vault (15mg more caffeine per can).

We brew our own soda.

Doesn't have any name yet but we could call it Powercat or something like that.
