I think in hs there are a lot of people who can't handle having a gf and getting seriously involved in robotics. However, I think there are plenty of students out there who can easily handle it, and it should really be judged (for lack of a better term) on a case by case basis. However, you should know if you're able to handle a relationship and FIRST at the same time.

It also depends on the person you're dating, i know my girlfriend, at the time, was very understanding with me and robotics, since it was when we were at competitions and what not.
