FISHER PRICE BREAKER?

Does anyone know if there are any requirements on what breaker to use for fisher price motors? Whether it is a 20,30, or 40 amp fuse?

I've gone through all the documentation and could not find any specifics.

At the moment, our robot has 2 wired with 14 awg wire to 30 amp breakers.

Re: FISHER PRICE BREAKER?

There are no restrictions. However, if you notice the FPs tripping the breaker a lot, or you're not getting expected results, go up to a 40A breaker and 12AWG wire. They can take that.

Re: FISHER PRICE BREAKER?

TPN,
There is no restriction on what breaker to use with any motor. The breaker rules match breaker size to wire size. You can run an FP motor from a 20 amp breaker if you wish. It needs to have a #18 wire or larger if that is the breaker you choose.

<R47> All active Power Distribution Board branch circuits shall be wired with appropriately sized wire:
A. 12 AWG (2.052mm) or larger diameter wire must be used for all circuits protected by a 40A circuit breaker.
B. 14 AWG (1.628mm) or larger diameter wire must be used for all circuits protected by a 30A circuit breaker.
C. 18 AWG (1.024mm) or larger diameter wire must be used for all circuits protected by a 20A circuit breaker.

Re: FISHER PRICE BREAKER?

Actually today we ran into that problem. We concluded that the 30 Amp Breaker is the best and most reliable for the job.

Re: FISHER PRICE BREAKER?

Adam,
Can you tell us how you got to that choice? Inquiring minds, you know.
