Question Classmate connection possiblilty

I know that you can connect the classmate to the wireless router
(WRT610N) which in turn connects to the gaming adapter (WGA600N) on the robot. But is there anyway to bypass the WRT610N and connect the classmate directly to the WGA600N?

Re: Classmate connection possiblilty

You mean like an Ad-hoc Wifi network between classmate and the bridge onboard the robot? Its plausible, though I'm not sure it would work as expected.

Why do you want to leave the router out of the equation?

Re: Classmate connection possiblilty

No, not even with an Ad-hoc network, because the Classmate does not use N-wireless. It uses b/g.

At home ONLY, you can just supplant your gaming adaptor with the router on the robot. Not legal for competition though.

Re: Classmate connection possiblilty

Ok thank you. But I hav4e another issue, we needed to reconfigure the wireless bridge. But now we can;t connect to it, we configured it's ip to 10.24.50.1 like it;s supposed to be, but somehow the static ip was changed to DHCP and now we can;t connect to it. Any help would be neccessary.

Re: Classmate connection possiblilty

Which device is set to use DHCP- the Classmate or the Gaming Adaptor?

If it's the Gaming Adaptor you can find it's current IP in the router DHCP table. Just browse to the router and look for it in the Wireless tabs.

Worse comes to worse, you always have the option of resetting the gaming adaptor to factory defaults (red recessed button on the back).

The bridge also doesn't support ad-hoc networks.

Re: Classmate connection possiblilty

We got the router working again. Just had to reset to factory defaults.
