Cannot connect Windriver to robot

Our team is having trouble connecting windriver to the robot. I'm following this tutorial to the letter: Windriver Tutorial

I create the new connection, enter my robot's ip address, (which is connected, as I can ping it). I've got the correct kernel file and everything.

But,when it actually trying to connect, it spews out this error:

Error: Error parsing command line !
Target Server will exit

After pressing OK on the error dialog, it has another error: Error connecting to 'VxWorks6x_10.34.7.2' (Registy localhost). Failed to launch target server

Possibly caused by: Timeout waiting for target server to launch. If it is normal for your target to connect slowly, you can increase the timeout in the Preferences, section Target Managment..

Any ideas on what is happening? One more little detail: this is not on the Classmate, but we have this computer configured correctly, static ip and all.

Re: Cannot connect Windriver to robot

If the windows firewall is running on your WinDriver PC, disable it and retry. Also make sure that you have the correct team number defined in WindRiver:
Windows -> Preferences -> FIRST download preferences

Re: Cannot connect Windriver to robot

I can't get the video to run on my computer, so sorry if I mention something that you're already doing...

Make sure you have the IP addresses set up correctly and that there are no IP conflicts on your network. If you're in an area with a wireless network, disable your laptop's wireless adapter to avoid interference. Like sunit said, make sure your firewall is disabled - you shouldn't be connected to the Internet at this point anyways.
Once that's done, make sure you set the correct .out file for your project.

I'm not sure what the first error is caused by, but the second error sounds like your wireless bridge on your bot either isn't booting correctly or isn't booting at all. If you have another bridge, test that to see if it works. You should also try connecting with the Classmate, just to make sure it's not some obscure setting on your PC. And try lengthening the timeout period to some crazy long time so that you absolutely know that it's not connecting, as opposed to it starting to connect but then timing out.

Re: Cannot connect Windriver to robot

Tried all these things, no luck. Tried disabling the firewall, made sure I had the correct team number, etc. Also, as far as I can tell, all ips are set correctly, no conflicts (robot set to 10.34.7.2, classmate to 10.34.7.5, development laptop set to 10.34.7.6)

We have the default code downloaded to the robot, we got help from another team. But, now we can't download any new code due to this error. The default program can be run by the Classmate with the driver station.

EDIT: Ok, re-imaged the crio, to see if that would help. It didn't, but it has a new error message. The first error message is the same, but now the second one is:

Error connecting to 'VxWorks6x_10.34.7.2'(Registry localhost). Failed to launch target server
Possibly caused by: Target Server died unexpectedly during start up with exit code '0'..

Removed dead entry from Registry!

SECOND EDIT: The probelm has mysteriously disappeared. Glad it works, thanks for everyone's help.

Re: Cannot connect Windriver to robot

Sometimes restarting WindRiver, the robot, and/or the computer will fix the problem. If it happens to you again, try to find out what fixed it. Fear Murphy's Law and prevent it by knowing exactly how to fix anything that goes wrong.

But hey, congrats! Good luck with the rest of your code!
