Diagnostics tab causes relay troubles

We've been having some difficulties with the relays on our robot. It seems to be working just fine for a while, but then the SPIKE relays go haywire. Why is it that these problems only occur while we are in the diagnostics tab of our Driver Station?

Re: Diagnostics tab causes relay troubles

The diagnostics tab has many more things going on in the background then the other tabs. For example, it is pinging the control system components. It's not expected that teams would be running their robots with the diagnostics tab open.

Re: Diagnostics tab causes relay troubles

Maybe not on the field, but I'd expected that teams will commonly run with the Diagnostics tab in the pits and on the practice field.

Not to be overly churlish, but I consider it a valid point of concern.

Re: Diagnostics tab causes relay troubles

The problem seemed to be fixed with a firmware update to the Driver Station. Problem solved. Thanks guys.
