Lightbulb Clarification on rule <G09>

So if some one could correct me if i am wrong, each team gets to choose where it wants there balls to start. whether they have 1, 2, or 3

If I understand you correctly, yes.

Depending on your field position (near, mid, or far), you get 1, 2, or 3 balls to place on the grid however you like.

Correct. Provided the balls are placed on one of the 9 dots in the STARTING GRID in their respective zone (rule <6.2.2>).
