we are thinking about putting a magnet on our robot as a quick release for a hook to lift our robot. i was just wondering if this as within the scope of the rules.

Re: magnets on an frc robot

Are you asking about electromagnets? There are several responses from the GDC in the Q&A forum that cover this subject. Electromagnets may be used if they do not add power to your mechanical systems, i.e. move something. They can be used to hold something in place or to release something that was moved by another legal energy source. All electrical rules apply.
