Chesapeake Regional - Operation: Snowmageddon

This morning, Bill Duncan of MarylandFIRST, on behalf of Team 836, emailed the letter copied below to all teams attending the Chesapeake Regional.

If you have either completed your robot, or have most of the robot built and shipped - we need your help!

If you shipped a robot that is "in progress" and need help, we and many other teams want to be able to help you.

Due to all the snow that we got during the six week build period, we know that there are issues out there, and we all want to help. The Chesapeake Regional committee is providing us with a table near Pit Admin that will allow us to have a central location to coordinate the relief effort. I have already heard from several teams and look forward to partnering with them to help all teams at the Chesapeake Regional!

Best Regards,

Steve

***The following message is sent on behalf of Team 836 to all teams
attending the Chesapeake Regional***

"Snowmageddon," President Barack Obama called it … one of the worst
blizzards to ever hit Washington. From Pennsylvania to New Jersey, south to
the Virginia, the region was under at least 2 feet of snow. Parts of
northern Maryland had 3 feet.

Teams competing at this year’s Chesapeake Regional, usually enjoy a
relatively mild winter. Not this year! Teams all over the region lost
anywhere from one to two full weeks out of the extremely tight six week
build season! To help teams recover from this once in a lifetime event, FRC
836, The RoboBees of Leonardtown, MD would like to launch “Operation:
Snowmageddon” to support FIRST teams travelling to the Inner Harbor of
Baltimore, MD!

We would like to make sure that all of the aid and assistance that FIRST
teams are known for is maximized to the greatest extent. To do that, we are
looking at pairing up teams that have resources, experience, expertise, and
most importantly, time to help those teams who desperately need those
resources, experience, expertise and time!

· If you or members of your team are available to assist others during the
Chesapeake Region, please send us your Team number, name of the individual
(s) who can assist, contact information, and their areas of expertise.
Please note - if they have programming experience – list the languages (C++,
Java, Labview, etc…).

· If your team is in need of assistance to complete your robot during the
Chesapeake Regional, please send us your Team number, what your team needs,
and a contact person.

We will keep a master work request system of needs and assigned resources,
making sure all teams get the assistance they need. If you find, once you
get to the regional that you need help, contact us at our booth, or leave a
request with Pit Admin, and we will look for available resources for you.
During the competition, one of our mentors will be working full-time
coordinating this effort. In addition, we will have at a minimum two
students assigned to assist other teams. Please do not hesitate to contact
us for assistance.

Please send all information and requests for assistance to Steve Page,
Mentor, at stevegpage@gmail.com.

Additionally, feel free to contact any of the following:
Zach Stachelczyk, Snowmaggeddon Assistance Coordinator, at zstack@gmail.com
Dave Buddenbohn, Engineering/Robotics Teacher, at dmbuddenbohn@smcps.org

See you at the competition!

The RoboBees!

Re: Chesapeake Regional - Operation: Snowmageddon

Steve:

MOE 365 is excited to be in Baltimore this year for the Chesapeake Regional. I responded to Bill's note. MOE plans to have our MOEbile Pit Crew available to help teams at this event!

See you in a few weeks!
