Looking for Beta testers at NJ Regional
My apologies if this is not in the right place. (We all have to start somewhere, and I usually start nowhere near where I'm supposed to, so sorry if I get this wrong!)
Just as a brief introduction, I'm part of Team 2265, the FeMaidens. This year, we're trying to test out a new mini-Regional game in addition to seeing our robots compete at Regionals. This will be a Human only game that will not involve humans playing soccer (which is pretty cool too, unless you're as athletically impaired as I am.) Instead, what we're trying out is a scavenger hunt, of sorts. I've tried coming up with a better term for what it is we're trying to do, but that's the closest I can get. We're currently looking for teams who are interested in participating, as well as teams who are willing to help us with hiding the stuff. There will be prizes, even if this is only our beta run. So if you're interested in helping us, or if you think that this is just a really bad idea, please leave a comment. Thanks! |

Re: Looking for Beta testers at NJ Regional
I think this could be a fun thing to do at competitions. There are a few hurdles to face first.
Will teams be too busy to play? Where can you hide stuff? Most places are busy or have no good hiding spots. What will you hide? |

Re: Looking for Beta testers at NJ Regional
Cool idea, stop by 1676 in the stands and ask around, I think you'll get some volunteers.
Just a word of caution: In our present terrorist-infested, Post-9/11 world, folks get a little bit twitchy when they see folks hiding things. Especially if those things don't look like something we all consider benign. SO...just keep in mind what your 'packages' might look like to a police officer or panicky old lady with bad eyesight. And make them look not like something bad. Capisce? |
