Go to Post COMPETE like crazy for the 2 minutes you are on the field, COOPERATE like crazy all the rest of the time. When we play this way, we all win. - Chris Fultz [more]

Post California Robot Game 2002

Forwarding an e-mail from Ken Krieger
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey there all you robotics folks!!

So, now that Labor day has passed, we know we're officially into another
shool year. Hope the long weekend was fun for everyone, and y'all are now on
the way to a fun year.

I'm writing to remind everyone that the WRRF California Robot Games is about
3 weeks away.

WE NEED YOU TO REGISTER FOR THE COMPETITION!!

http://www.wrrf.org/games/Register

This is a great opportunity to introduce new team members, and new mentors
to the fun and excitement of this competition. Right now we have 11 teams
signed up to participate. I know just from looking at the team numbers that
there are more who plan to participate, who have not yet signed up. Please
do.

For those who are on the fence... We really want you to participate!

1. It's a very fun family-oriented event.
2. It's a low-stress way to introduce your team to the competition.
3. You get to use last year's robot again!
4. New people can drive the machine in competition
5. Arguably the coolest awards from any robotics competition!
6. COMPLETELY community run!
7. A great way to network with other students and mentors in your area.
8. We have TWO rookie teams (built their robots over the summer) participating
9. Special Celebrity Guests will be attending the competition!
10. The more teams that participate, the more fun the competition is!

So if you are just "thinking about it".... "Just Do IT!!" (tm)

For the adult leaders, my experience with this competition is that it can be
completely student driven. As long as they have transportation to/from the
event, the students take care of the rest!

Please write (ken@wrrf.org) me, OR Ken Leung
(ken_leung@hotmail.com) or Jason Morrella (jmorrella@usfirst.org) if you have
any questions...

Look forward to seeing you all there!!

Cheers,

Ken Krieger
