Well then, how about this - how do you completely UNINSTALL Wind River Workbench - clean the registry, start from a clean slate? There is no option under Add/Remove programs, nor any other shortcuts that I can see.

I get the feeling that some file or setting is corrupt and needs banished to PC hell before this thing will be fixed....
There should be a directory named 'uninstaller' under c:\WindRiver.
Inside, should be 3 to 5 other directories that contain individual uninstallers (compiler, vxworks, board support, etc.).
You need to run each, in no particular order.

AFAIK, Workbench doesn't infest the registry, so you shouldn't need to worry about that.

Look in c:\Documents and Settings\<your username>.
If there are any files or directories that are obviously Workbench related, delete them.
Look for 'workbench*', 'wr*', etc..

Finally, delete c:\WindRiver.

Note that it is safe to just skip the uninstallers and blow away c:\windriver, but people tend not to believe me when I tell them that.
