Wink Rookie team 3324 (with mecanum wheels ;D)

Hi there!

This is rookie team 3324 and we started our youtube channel and our own website! Please check them out here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/TheMetrobots

http://robotics.themetroschool.org/ click on the ads if you are bored, they pay for every click we get

Our robot is driving and kicking without any issues, we decided to not include our arm for lifting as it was overweight when its on ( the robot is on the edge of the weight limit....) We have many videos so please check them out!

We are programing the autonomous mode while our robot is not here, so hopefully it will work! Oh yea, we are aiming for national! Gooooo MetroBots!

Just for a fair warning, the ball is not allowed to go into your robot more then 3". The top of your robot looks like it funnels down and allows the ball to go in a lot more then 3".

Re: Rookie team 3324 (with mecanum wheels ;D)

the top allows any ball that hits our robot to roll down to the ground without getting stuck inside our robot. Technically the ball won't be inside our robot but outside, can we get a confirmation on that?

<R19> ROBOTS must be designed so that in normal operation BALLS cannot extend more than 3 inches inside
a) the FRAME PERIMETER below the level of the BUMPER ZONE (see Figure 8-5),
b) a MECHANISM or feature designed or used to deflect BALLS in a controlled manner that is above the level of the BUMPER ZONE.

Re: Rookie team 3324 (with mecanum wheels ;D)

It looks like what they are trying to is if the ball lands on their robot, it just rolls out either from the front of or the back but from the way they built their robot, it looks like it goes into the frame of the robot. I don't know if that's ok or not so I suggest you just get it checked when you get it inspected.

Otherwise, great looking robot. Good luck at your regional(s)!!!
