Exclamation Team Spirit?!?

All the girls on our team want more team spirit, and yes I will have to admit we don't have much. But we do have alot of pride in our team, but how to we get members to get more excited about the game and the robot?!?!

an easy way to help with team sprit, is to make it fun. Our team when we go to comps, we have all matching uniforms(shirts, jackets, and khakis). plus we have stupid annoying soundmakers, try something that you feel comfortable with and stick with it

I love these threads that are my specialty. As head of the spirit committee (along with many other strange lil ones), the best way to get people excited is to make them feel useful. If not everyone is working at the robot at the same time at competitions, get other people to do other things useful for the team. There was a bunch of us who decorated our pit area with streamers, balloons, our team banner, etc. These really got us noticed by other teams and judges...and part of the Judge's award we got was for our spirit.

Between the time when the robot was shipped off and competition, we assembled spirit packages. They had candy going along with our "hart burn" theme, a cd mix all the boys help put together, pencils, pens, stickers, etc. During competition, we had "good will ambassadors" go around and hand these out which helped strike up convos with other teams and really got our team excited. Oh, and in LA we handed out plastic eggs filled with stuff that had good luck messages written all over them.

Also, between each of our matches, we had huge team flags that we ran across infront of the field just to get people cheering for us and signs that had our name. It only takes a few spirited people from your team to pump up the crowd (and other team members).

I have more but I don't want this to be too long so it maybe continued later. And if all else fails, pump up your team with some sugar and coffee.

Spirit...

It doesn't really matter WHAT you do, as long as you can get everybody to do it. Organize something, make up a cheer, and just get everyone in the mood =) My team dyes our hair red and has a chant which I'm not sure anybody knows the meaning of, but we yell LOUD, and it gets everyone excited

Force them to scout! Oh wait...that kills morale. Ehh...DO IT ANYWAYS!

If the people did something during the year to contribute to the robot making it to competitions, they shouldn't need to 'get' team spirit. Team 84 seems to have lots of team spirit

To make your team's spirit get noticed, chants help. Something simple, stupid, and snappy (UP CHUCK, UP CHUCK, UP CHUCK!) Normally chants get mumbled into oblivion, but it still sounds cool. Cheer at everything. Win, lose, who cares!? Cheer anyways. Cheer at stuff breaking Stay in a huge mob and walk around cheering.

That's all I can think of.

Team 84 has spirit?!?!

Get others involved in your cheer! Up Chuck! catches on with others, and get other teams to be your friends. We had several other teams cheering for us at competitions.

Blue hair is great! To bad others don't want to join me!

don't let adults control the team spirit...especially if your team doesn't particularly like the adults. Otherwise, you might get stuck with some bad team spirit stuff. Kind of the case with us this year, no of us were very enthused with the idea of working on pins + stuff so we ended up with those noise maker poles that you hit the floor with. They were supposed to have paper cut out wooden shoes on them but people thought they were battle axes.

Most of our team who werent pansies dyed our hair before nats. We have a big giant Cat-in-the-Hat Hat (Doesnt make much sense does it?) that a person stands in and walks around. Tons of people asked us if they could take pictures of it. We don't have as many people on our team as others, but we were pretty loud. I'm also pretty sure that our hat stole the team spirit award from 192 at San Jose. =/
