Re: 1310 Practicing

Kind of hard to tell from the video, but it looks like the ball is more than 3 inches inside your perimeter. Also, where do you plan on mounting bumpers?

Other than that, looks good!

Thanks Eugene!

The ball does indeed intrude more than 3 inches into our frame perimeter. There are currently no plans for bumper mounts at this time.

Sam,

Apologies for being vague, but team policy does require me to.

The robot in our bag does not allow the ball to intrude more than 3" into the frame perimeter. The bagged robot also has legal bumpers (or so we think... some years I'm never quite sure... )

Re: 1310 Practicing

But why practice (and show off) a robot that does?

Of course I'm being facetious here, as there are some very legitimate reasons for both practicing with and "showing-off" this particular robot - some of which have been addressed in other threads on CD by different individuals.

The main reason I'll state is: it's hard to practice with and show off a robot that's wrapped in a bag. That'd be far less interesting wouldn't it?

Although I'd be a pretty interesting day if/when a team puts up a movie of them practicing with a robot still in it's bag...

I suppose the point here is that while the robot in the movie is mildly neat, and very illegal, maybe the most notable bits have nothing to do with the robot at all?
