The KC Regional was amazing this year, even though we were low-seeded (We didn't really completely understand the coopertition thing until towards the end ) Breakaway was very interesting to watch this year. (As compared to Lunacy, which was a member on our team put it "It was like watching paint drive around in circles")Congrats to all the teams at the KC Regional. ~David |

Re: Kansas City Regional - 2010
As a member of the regional planning committee we work hard to try to make this an enjoyable event and hope everyone enjoyed the event and the venue this year. It was great to have so many teams travel so far to participate in KC. We appreciate any comments that you might have to make the event even better. Please send comments to my e-mail account. I would also like to congratulate all the teams, with 59 competing and finishing close to on time that was great.

Re: Kansas City Regional - 2010
We have learned today that after reviewing field data, team 1986 and 525 experienced a communication conflict (I assume an IP address overlap) during qual. match #60, causing 1986 to be nearly inoperable and 525 entirely dead. No way of knowing how that effected the overall outcome, but in that match two of the most prolific scorers in the tournament lost by a score of 0-1. No hard feelings, the system is complex, it was week 1, and stuff happens. It might have somehow even been our own fault. Just wanted folks to know that we aren't in the habit of sitting still during matches.

Re: Kansas City Regional - 2010
I'd like to add my thoughts to those that Rex posted. Thanks to all the teams who participated in KC. I am grateful for your great attitudes and willingness to go with the flow as we worked out the kinks this first weekend of competition! As your queuer, I was able to witness so many examples of Gracious Professionalism, and only a very few examples of ungracious behavior the whole weekend. Please share any suggestions for improving your experience at our event, and thanks again for attending. Congratulations to all teams and good luck the rest of the season!
For those attending Dallas, we'll see you there as well! ![]() |

Re: Kansas City Regional - 2010
Thank you to everyone for making the Greater Kansas City 2010 Regional a success.
I am the teacher/sponsor and also act as coach. I saw many examples of Gracious Professionalism on the field, in the pits, at the practice field, in the stands, and outside tailgating for lunch. The greater Kansas City area has been a great fit for FIRST robotics, and also the other way around. |

He is right on that one. 525 definitely does not just sit around.

Re: Kansas City Regional - 2010
Can anyone verify the draft order from KC?
I have the alliances, and some of the order, but not sure on a few. 1. 2345 - 525 - 931 (correct) 2. 1625 - 16 - 2410 (correct) 3. 1209 - 2335 - 1825 (not sure) 4. 1785 - 1986 - 1730 (not sure) 5. 1094 - 1806 - 1997 (not sure) 6. 2461 - 925 - 1763 (correct) 7. 234 - 868 - 1982 (correct) 8. 932 - 1208 - 1810 (not sure) |

Re: Kansas City Regional - 2010
At our team meeting last night we spent a few minutes talking about our experience at the KC Regional. Several parents commented on how wonderful the choir doing the national anthem was. They really appreciated it as a way to involve members of all teams, not just local teams, and it's not something we've seen at other regionals. Wonderful rendition with very limited time to practice--just another example of how talented these kids are!
One of the local teams had great support from their HS band on Saturday morning--having a rocking brass and drum section was awesome. We also commented on the number of younger kids on school field trips on Friday. Again, not something we've seen (or noticed) before but it was great to see these groups get a taste of the competition. Lots of great ideas on how to increase exposure to FIRST in different ways. Re: Kansas City Regional - 2010
Now I'm confused.
Do you mean 925 should be 935? |
