Need some input
We're still trying to start our non-profit corporation. It's going to be made up of teacher's, parents and alumni of TJ. Of course the problem is know we can't figure out a name for this. We would like to stay away from anything involving FIRST because of confusion. I've already talked with FIRST headquarters and they don't want two corporations with around the same name go to the same company looking for money. We've gotten two suggestions for names right now. Email me at lee4th@mediaone.net with any suggestions and if your name is used, we might be able to help ya with other things in the future.
Here are the suggestions so far: R - Robotics A - and Y - Youth (S - Society)? or H - Helping E - Engineers and R - Robotics O - Organization Please remember that after the name of the organization is something like inc. or ltd. or something like that. Talk to you all later. Thank for any help you can give. |

H.E.R.O.????
I don't know if you knew it or not but the team I'm on already uses the acronymn H.E.R.O. It is mostly for our regional competitions when we have spare parts from the year that is available for all teams to use. We set up a booth and let people take what they need and also let teams donate parts that they don't need anymore, so we act as sort of a middleman between teams that want to give stuff and teams that need stuff.
Our version of H.E.R.O. stands for Helping Every Robot Organization, and has been in effect for the past two or three years I believe. I don't know if you want to take this into consideration before you decide a name just keep it in mind that it is already being used in FIRST in one way or another. |
