Dashboard command line?

Ever since the latest DS update, the dashboard command line has vanished from our driver's station console. This is a problem, because our current dashboard isn't working well and we want to switch to another one, but I can't figure out how to do that anymore.

I was going to just rename the new dashboard the same as the old one, but one is a .vi and the other is a .exe, so it wouldn't work. Has anyone else encountered this or figured out a solution?

Re: Dashboard command line?

When you build the EXE of your dashboard, move the files to Program Files/FRC PC Dashboard and replace the existing files with yours. Then your dashboard will replace the current one

Re: Dashboard command line?

With your new Dashboard you need to:
  1. right click on "Build Specifications" and choose New -> Application (EXE)
  2. The properties window will popup and you can
    • Set the path to C:\Program Files\FRC Dashboard
    • Change the name to Dashboard.exe
  3. Go to "Source Files" on the left listing
  4. Select "Dashboard Main.vi" and push the right arrow button beside "Startup VIs"
  5. Click OK to close the popup properties window
Now whenever you right-click on that new spec under Build Specifications and choose "Build", your new Dashboard will replace the existing Dashboard.
Double check that the new EXE ends up in the correct directory with the correct name, e.g., C:\Program Files\FRC Dashboard\Dashboard.exe

Re: Dashboard command line?

If you still have issues, it could be that the DS with the command line was used to change the command.

The command line is saved in the All Users account, My Documents, in the DS settings ini file. Sorry I can't give the exact path at the moment, but I think you'll find it. It is a simple text file, and one of the settings is the command line. If you delete a line, it will be restored to the factory default during the next run.
