Re: Troy district field?

Except for the buzzer, foghorn, 20 second warning and match start, all sound is done by a private company, it has nothing to do with the field.

Re: Troy district field?

If I have this correctly, sound at Cass went though the school's own system. The field sounds had to be jerry-rigged in.

Re: Troy district field?

Ok, sounds like it is hit or miss on sound. Now for something else. An email was sent out and #4 on the list made it sound like Friday was not open to the general public. It mentions wristbands for the teams to enter. Could someone clear this up. Oh, they also mentioned some guy that is going to be there Friday. Jean simmons or something like that.

I have not heard anything about wristbands for the event. I know there is school going on, but it seems outrageous to limit spectator viewing at a FIRST event. Are you referring to this update?

And I too have heard that Dean Kamen will be stopping by for a visit on Friday afternoon It's a shame that I will be in school, or else I would drop by to visit him

Last year Traverse City had wristbands on Friday as well. It was because the school was still in session and they didn't want kids to skip class.

Not true at Michigan District events.

At districts sound management is up to the discretion of the event coordinators; so far both of the event's I have attended have had the sound systems run by FIRST volunteers, and all sounds routed through a single sound system.

Re: Troy district field?

I was at Troy tonight and it is the field from Wayne State. I can vouch for the carpet because I marked the ball grids with circles at Wayne State and they still live!
