Predict the winning alliance at your regional?

Hey guys,

Look at the regional you will be attending and then the team list that will be there. With how everything is going, who do you predict will be the winning alliance of your regional and why?

Re: Predict the winning alliance at your regional?

It's still kinda early for Palmetto(Well...one week), and it's hard to tell what exactly are the abilities of a robot from Blue Alliance, but look for at least one or more of the following teams to be on the winning alliance.

343
342 (If they pull off their remodeling job)
1319 (If they pull off their remodeling job)
1261
1379
2815

Re: Predict the winning alliance at your regional?

Hmmm. I don't know much about most of the teams attending North Carolina, but I think that team 79 will be in the finals or win it! Teams 1902, 48, 1319, and 122 I expect will do very good. But it is very difficult to say if those homeschoolers from New Hampshire will even make the eliminations!
I just hope the robot performs the way it should and stays intact to be honest!

Good luck to everyone in North Carolina!

You can bet that we will pull ours off, in fact the changes are so small they may go unrecognized (mainly tweaking of a few things and drive team practice) however it sounds like 342 could be showing up with an entirely differnet bot we will see. I totally agree with all of your picks and will also throw into the ring 945 as well as 1102 and I hear that rookie team 3371 has an awesome way to hang so we will see.

I just realized that I had not seen 2815's robot yet, however based on last years performance and the people that make up the team I am sure they will have an excellent robot. Does anyone have any pics?

It won't be that drastic. I would also throw 281 in the ring for Palmetto. They looked pretty solid at Peachtree. This year is hard to call because it has really cut down the usual divide between veteran and rookie teams

It will all come down to the drivers, and physics I guess

At LA, something involving 190, 330, 968, and 1717 (pick two).

But I don't know.

It was pretty obvious that 86 (the rolling robot) would do well at Florida and sure enough, it won.

I'd throw 294 and 233 into that mix. 330 and 294 have regional wins to their credit already. 1717 has a finalist. Those three tend to mix it up in SoCal regional final rounds.

Re: Predict the winning alliance at your regional?

As far as Colorado goes, I'd expect a team from outside Colorado/Wyoming to be on the winning alliance this year(either: 1592, 1540, 1817, or 399). In terms of local teams: 1583 built a nice, well designed robot this year, as well as 1619. You can't discount team 2083, They have been in the eliminations every year for the past 3 years, making it to the finals twice.

hahaha, we were working when the Florida regional was on, and I was the only one watching when I first saw 86 roll over and land the somersault. I flipped out and I quickly went to go get my teammates to see the acrobot. The next time though, it didn't quite land correctly, so we were all bummed out, but then it corrected itself and then we all flipped out even more.

The above happened in a period of 30 seconds.

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Re: Predict the winning alliance at your regional?

Waterloo Regional:
I expect to see one or more of these teams on the winning alliance.
1114, 2056, 610, 1565, 2609, 1503, 1305, 2200, 854 and 772.

Yeah, Waterloo is going to be pretty competitive this year... I think I could have included most of the rest on the list if I wanted though :S.

I mean, 1114 is the most obviously dominant robot so far, but this game seems right up the alley of many of the teams attending. Many of us have built robust, high quality robots for years, and 1114 has set a standard that I think all Canadian teams are fighting to achieve.

It is going to be worth watching.
