2002 OCCRA kickoff is actually today(about a half hour from when I'm writing this...), and except for one team, all the teams are from Oakland County. Keep in mind, however, that all the events are in Oakland county, so a bit of a drive may be in store to go to events for anyone outside of the county. At this point, I believe, it is too late to register for the 2002 season, but 2003 may be a possibility...

OCCRA Outside Oakland County

We in OCCRA appreciate your interest and are ready to assist any Michigan schools that want to form a fall league in their own county/area; we would love to have a robotics state championship some day! This is a great way to prepare your team for FIRST, too.
With that said, understand that this league is heavily subsidized by the Oakland Intermediate School District and local companies via the Oakland Schools Education Foundation. (Returning teams only pay $350 to participate in 4 tournaments and get a kit of materials!). Furthermore, it takes us a several hours to assemble an additional control box and kit.
We will take teams from outside our county IF they are exploring the formation of their own competitive league and they want to try it for a year or so with us, just to see how it runs. We are only able to take on a few outsiders each year and the first year registration is $3,500 (our cost). A school official would need to contact me soon if you are serious about joining this year (and it might be too late already: we are very low on some of the kit inventory and the kick-off was 3 days ago!).
