Yeah, a bunch of us FIRST'ers ran into him at the segway exhibit, after the nationals, and I used the opportunity to get his "signature."

Has he ever come to Rutgers? Seems like his brother is there a bit.

He was _tentatively_ scheduled to show up at the NE Robot Challenge or whatever. No show.

The last time I remember seeing Dean or Woody at Rutgers was 2000 (?) and then only briefly. They seem to visit the regionals needing a big boost or where the press is most likely to attend
But we have Bart Kamen and he is just as good!

BTW- there will be a new venue for Rutgers this year and probably a much larger regional. : )

two of the mom's on our team made special jungle print shirts for the crew that went to nationals this year. i covered the back with team buttons, and when dean came on his segway, with the media all around him, he stopped right in front of our pit. he signed one shoulder of my shirt, and pictures were taken. later, we were walking thru the pits, and i saw woody, with, like, three or four people standing around him. i ran to pit admin, grabbed a sharpie, and ran back. he signed my other sleeve. i flaunted that shirt like there was no better thing in the world. one guy on my team said the only signature that mattered was deans, and i bit his head off :-D

We had our "wrench" signed by Dean. Unfortunately with all the clanging, it has rubbed off. Guess we'll have to try for another signature next year.

Dean, Woody, and Jeff Besoz (of Amazon.com) signed all of our visors and last year Jeb bush signed one of teammates (who happens to be obsessed with politics by the way) shirt. i doubt he's washed it since then, lol
