I don't know. I think they made the move because they were having bandwidth issues.

My dad might be able to find that out. Then again, he's trying to make sure the field stays running smoothly.

Team 1515 -- thanks again for the webcast. I've heard from several families in our school (including one School Board member) who were watching via webcast. Likely they wouldn't have or couldn't have come to Long Beach, so this provided another way we could get more people in our school excited about the competition!

Congrats, also, on the Chairman's Award. Hosting this webcast is more proof that you truly deserved that honor!!!!!!

True. We were doing some PM on our kicker mechanism and found that we lost a couple of snap rings. We were almost ready without a time out, but we wanted to make sure we had it right. It also gave us some more time to tweak our strategy.

Re: 2010 Los Angeles Regional Webcast - Hosted by Team 1515 MorTorq

Andrew,
Great job with your team this past weekend and wish we could've watched. Us and 368 were following your finals live by phone while playing in the quarterfinals here in Hawaii (since we were teammates). Heard that 980 lost power in the 4th match. Too bad! Maybe couldve gone to a 5th match!

Congrats to all since as we had winning partners from both alliances earlier this season!!

I think everyone watching (well, maybe not the teams actually competing, but all of the spectators) really were hoping for exactly that! We didn't want to see the amazing matches end. I think Amir (1717 mentor) put it best, something to the effect that we'd have to keep playing until all the robots melted and that would be what would get shipped to Atlanta.

Re: 2010 Los Angeles Regional Webcast - Hosted by Team 1515 MorTorq

From a fan's point of view I was really impressed with the webcast.

Thank you Team 1515 for providing this. I personally also liked the chat-feature because it made the finals even that much more exciting with a bunch of people commenting and reacting real-time to the event. I also got to connect with alumni from my team from every year of us competing (including a few watching from Europe)

There were sometimes when we had to call/text people at the competition (for example, inquiring about any delays) but overall the quality was good and there weren't really any technical issues (especially on Saturday, after it was moved to Justin.tv)

Thanks again.

We think the battery has a couple of damaged cells. That 2009 battery was used in quals without any problems, had a full charge and showed almost 13V. We lost comm early in teleop mode and had only brief, sporadic operation through the match. According to FMS, our voltage was dropping to 8V, causing the cRIO to reset. Oh well, stuff happens...

I don't think anyone in the building could have handled a 5th match. The four finals matches raised the arena roof, providing some of the most exciting action I've ever seen.

Re: 2010 Los Angeles Regional Webcast - Hosted by Team 1515 MorTorq

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I was in charge of the web stream and our webmaster who posted this thread helped out a bunch as well.

We had some issues Friday because we embedded the ustream on our homepage and had a chat, match scores, the match schedule there along with a few other things that made up a nice OI......opps user interface. We revived over 10,000 hits Friday and our server kept crashing because of the load, according to our logs we crashed when the 381 person attempted to simultaneously connect to our server. (This is a virtual dedicated server no shared BS) We decided Friday night that we would let Justin TV handle the load for Saturday which ended up being a good decision since we had 6,032 viewers (double what we had Friday).

I am sorry to those who could only get Ustream and not JustinTV, I honestly thought about this and though that if companies blocked 1 they would sure block the others and JustinTV offered a better native resolution than Ustream which we upsized on our site.

I have posted some fun stats from Friday below:
82,320 Minuets of Video Watched
10,541 Website Hits
3,053 Stream Hits
2,106 Unique Viewers
16 Countries
5 Server Crashes
5 Server Restarts
2 New Backup Servers
1 New Video Server
1 Day Left
0 new expected crashes

Unfortunately due tot he Justin TV switch the only stat I have from Saturday is:
6,032 Stream Viewers
