Re: Funny things to ask for on the PA system

At the Buckeye '08 Regional, I heard the PA announcer say, "Team XXX is in need of a new robot"...not a good sign!

Here is one that might get a lot of attention. "Team XXXX needs a Geiger counter. They think they have a leak.”

How about something to repair our dilithium chambers while we're at it?
I'd mention unobtanium, but if somebody falls for that one...

Re: Funny things to ask for on the PA system

I happened to like all the funny pit announcements simply because they're all funny and of course they're always announced at the right time. =). I always here the common Flux Capicator but I wouldn't mind hearing some new ones =). NYC and NJ I think was full of the funny annoucnements although I'm not too sure about SBPLI.

I would love to see someone ask for unobtainium, and be provided with a past-or-present FRC game piece that was at one time or another, deemed unobtainium.

Hilarious!

Anyway, at Philly this year a couple of the kids on my team got one of the freshmen to get spare parts to say "423 needs bocky" on the loudspeaker. In the high school from where most of my team hails (where is that? look it up yourself, it will be an adventure!), bocky is a slang term meaning...erm...you know, when a woman wants to do something special for a man...a more common vernacular is a compound noun, starting and ending with b...I don't have to spell it out for you, do I? A nod's as good as a wink, no?

Good times.

I hope everyone is using April Fool's Day wisely at any regional they might be attending (although the above story is 100% purely true).

Re: Funny things to ask for on the PA system

It's a shame nobody can hear announcements in the pits at GWCC. I'd really like to see the reactions to "Team 45 would like to borrow JVN."

The funny part is that I use this to test how well the rookies on my team know their tools.

The sad part is, I think a few are still looking.
