Powerful motor?

So im looking at buying some motors for a sumobot that im building, and i want it to be as powerful as possible. The total voltage for this bot is 14v max so im looking at around 9v total for motors? anyone suggest a good motor from cheap supplier?

Re: Powerful motor?

It might help to have some size and weight requirements.

Are you talking about a mini sumo robot?

Are you concerned mainly about power or torque? What size wheels do you plan on using? Will the motors be a direct connection to the wheels or connected by a pulley or chain?

And what are you using for a battery or speed controller? That is useful to know so that we have an idea of what kind of current constraints you are working under.

The more specific your question, the more useful the answer.

Jason

Can you explain what that means in more detail? Motors typically do not get connected in such a way as to "use up" voltage.

Re: Powerful motor?

Black and decker makes <made?> small 6volt drills
The model # is AD600
Also, the quick connect hex shank driver bits can be used as direct drive shafts, or not if you want different gearing.
They are only ~13.39 USD at target

Edit: The AS603 6 volt screw driver is only ~$10, but it doesn't have a quick connect chuck so you would need to drill a hole through the output on the driver and the shaft so you can put a pin in to connect them.

Also, the shaft size is .25" between parallel sides of the hexagon

If you put the motors on separate motor controllers hooked up in parallel, with voltage controllers in series if you need them) on a controller also in parallel, then you should have 14 volts available from all other outputs an the controller and on all other parallel branch circuits from the battery even with everything running. < until your battery runs down.>
