Our first meeting was...well...two days ago. We had probably 8-12 noobs there. That's not all of them (I hope) There were all supposed to be there but I doubt they all were. Wasn't a bad turnout for the first meeting.

We had 60 sign up but I don't think they will all show up. Maybe half will come to our first expo night.

since my brother is in 9th this year, we have about 10 kids that are coming, and will stay. the thing is, i'm not sure if i want them, cause they'll just aggravate me like they do in my boy scout troop (which they are also part of).

I tend to agree. Though it is great that you're sharing something with your younger sibs, they *do* get very annoying after a while.
I brought my younger brother to Regionals my Junior year and he was fascinated with it. He joined the next year, so I was a Senior and he was a freshman. *sigh* He did hardly anything the entire season. I stressed myself out that year. (Rather stupid of me) But I also felt responsible for getting my brother to do stuff and he just wouldn't. He supposedly joined this year, but I don't know how that's gonna work, exactly.

She's carrying a soldering iron!" and started laughing, and everybody else started laughing, I could just say, "That's right, it's a soldering iron. The soldering iron of justice." Then everybody would get real quiet and ashamed, because they had made fun of the soldering iron of justice, and I could probably hit them up for a free drink.”

Wehave about 40 people signed up this year. Of those 40, 18 are veterans on the team. I'm guessing, though, that by the time the build rolls around we will have about 30 members. By the time Nationals gets here, we'll probably have a few less than that.

We had our first meeting a while ago, and just as last year, we got a huge amount of people there. Last year was our first, and only around 12 people made it to the competiotion, out of the 50 who participated in meetings in the beginning. We'll have to see what happens this year... We'll have to try to make them stay somehow.

grr our first meeting is tomorrow after we sign up for our regional(note: the NYC regional is no longer at columbia...grr) so we neeed to have a decent freshman/sophmore turn out just to convince the school, "this is a good thing..trust me"

Is Riverbank State Park nice, Evan? ...if you've been there, or seen it, even.

I'd never even heard of it until this week. It matters little, though, since it's again scheduled the same weekend as Long Island.

Riverbank State Park is nice but yet there is nothing to really eat around there except Mc Donalds (there is a kfc and a pizza hut around there but its a bit of a walk and you would have to know how to get around manhattan)
