Re: Thanks 1902

Here is a little anecdote from Atlanta and the awesome team 1902...

My wife had a headache and we were sitting near the Labview booth trying to figure out how to get some water so she could take some aspirin. A student from 1902 heard our conversation and offered us a bottle of water from their pit.

We walked over to get the water and my wife took some aspirin and the headache went away.

Thanks 1902, it may have been a small gesture, but it made a huge impression.

Adam, I'm glad you were able to make it to Atlanta. The Championship Event is a great experience, and I wish all FIRST students could make it regardless if their robot is competing or not.

Ed, that is a HUGE statement coming from you. I hope you keep making it to Florida.

Re: Thanks 1902

1902 has, without a doubt, some of the coolest people on it. One of my favorite memories from Atlanta last year was our epic ultimate Frisbee game with you guys in the park outside. It was low key, simple, but it stuck in my mind for a long time. Maybe it's because that was combined with the fact that they took Hartford that year. Many times, strong teams aren't really chill. But, you guys are.

Also, as I recall, last year in Hartford our teams had the first Friday match together so we were sitting on the field and talking during opening ceremonies. That was also very fun. Thanks for making my first driving experience (and possibly the most nervous time of my life) just a little more enjoyable.

1902 is full of great people- I've had a fantastic working with them at a few competitions in the past, both as a team member and on the field crew.

Exploding Bacon is a great team! We were at UCF last year and their enthusiasm (and cute piggy hats) were just fantastic!

Exploding Bacon's secret weapon is Wendy. Wendy just loves everyone and that just explodes into the team members and sets the stage.

Wendy is truly a role model that we all look up to.

I give a big Oink Oink Boom to Wendy.

Re: Thanks 1902

Bacon was the first team Georgie and I encountered when we finally made it to the pits at champs.
Really wonderful people who set the stage for many great encounters that followed.

FYI, this thread made crave bacon so badly that I am now, as I write this, cooking 2 pounds of it.
