To create a sense of security and stability, the thing needs something for the rider to hold on to. I wouldn't want to sit on a bar stool that moved around like that, I certainly wouldn't want to perch on top of that tiny thing.

And

I keep getting a mental image of all the zero-muscle-tone people in the Wall-E movie.

i think they toped the segway in that: it's one wheel, you're not standing like a segway, you can strafe and it's a little more travel ready.

i also see it as more of an office chair, just powered.

Yeah, it's kind of like an iPad.

I don't need one and I'm not sure what I'd do with it if I had one.

But I want one anyway.

Actually... I think I'd want two of them. That way I could put two students in hockey helmets and award a doughnut to whoever can knock the other guy off.

Ohh... Honda chair jousting tournaments! Now I know what they are good for!
