Lovely, I have a cool idea, and don't even know how to begin to organize it...

Yup. I'd love to learn more about teams from other countries that participate in FRC (and the other FIRST programs). Chile and Turkey come time mind. Brazil, Mexico... Where In The World Is FIRST? Their shops/work spaces - could help tell some amazing stories and provide common ground.

If I can help, let me know -
Jane

Re: pic: Guess where I went this week?

I'll go ahead and clarify things a bit here.

After my family got out of college this year, we took a short family trip up to the Niagara Falls region and St. Catharines. Upon hearing about this, 1114 graciously offered me a tour of their school's shop. For an hour, instead of paying too much for tourist attractions the next town over, I got a student-guided tour of 1114's shop and robots past and present. (I don't know where the mentors were hiding, but not in the shop...)

It was a very inspiring experience, but not quite in the way you'd think. Without going into every detail, I can just say it's apparent 1114 is the product of pure dedication, hard work, and strong leadership rather than ridiculous resources. That's the magic of the Simbot program. I wish I could engage student leaders like they do. Must be a Canadian thing.

(Now I just have to convince my family to vacation in Greenville, TX! )
