IRI Talent Show Performances

Hi! I am a member of team 1675 and I am at IRI this year. I took video of all of the performances from the 2010 IRI Talent Show and I will be posting the on my youtube profile in the coming days. If you did a performance, enjoyed the performances and want to share them with your friends back home, or did not have the opportunity to attend IRI this year, feel free to check back here for the link to the Youtube page where the videos will be posted.

These videos were taken from my Flip camcorder and taken to the best of my ability. I apologize if the visual or audio quality is not the best or if someone's head got in the way of the camera during your performance.

Re: IRI Talent Show Performances

First of all, I'm really glad someone is going to be putting up the videos of the IRI talent show so I can show off, err, 'display' my first IRI talent show skills. This is Dane (the guy with Safety Glasses who was cracking up while my partner was singing to the judges) and I hope everyone got as much of a kick out of our singing performance as we (or at least I) did while singing.

Overall, it was a great Talent show! And congrats to Dane (not me, the one that won) for winning it with his talent! It truly was amazing! I just felt bad we had to Encore after it. Regardless, once again great job!

I can't wait to watch a lot of these performances again. There were quite a few that were very entertaining.

I heard at least 3 different people recorded the Gaga / Ke$ha skit. While I'm happy for your enthusiasm, I was kind of hoping I'd never see that act again.

Hey, don't say that! You don't want to make Lady Gaga angry...
(and you should at least watch it once. I saw a recording of it, and we weren't THAT bad...)

I'll admit it was a train wreck for an entirely different reason than I anticipated. I just never like seeing my own terrible Lavery impressions.

Re: IRI Talent Show Performances

I enjoyed many of the performances but one that was fun from beginning to end was the Hilltoppers. Really fun stuff.

Does anyone remember the shepherd's crook that was used to pull performers from the stage many years ago in Vaudeville acts? I remembered that during one or two of the acts and how fun that would have been. Gosh, I'm old.

I must say it was a lot of fun to go to IRI and be in the talent show.

All I can say is that I'm glad my coils didn't blow up on stage

Re: IRI Talent Show Performances

Alot of the talents are showing up on youtube! After the show alot of people were asking me for the lyrics of our song so what better time to give them when our video is finaly out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWGKWhVKn_g

Chris: Wake up in the morning feelin’ like Dean Kamen
Sportin’ denim all around, I’m bein’ pretty darin’,
Fix some screws in the slots of my mechanical arm
Cause working through the night,
...Never caused no harm..

I’m talking robots on the field, field
Judges viewing steel, steel
Dean’s List, that whole spiel, spiel…
Hey y’all…

We’re,
Checking up on the pits, pits,
Talking to groups of stu-dents,
Giving a ton of speaaaaachesssssss…

Both: Don’t stop, lift bots up,
We’ll we winning soon enough,
Tonight, robots fight, till they re-ach Einstein
Tik tok, time’s near up,
But the robots never stop,
Oh, wo-o-o-ooah, wo-o-o-oah
Don’t stop, lift bots up,
We’ll we winning soon enough,
Tonight, robots fight, till they re-ach Einstein
Tik tok, time’s near up,
But the robots never stop,
Oh, wo-o-o-ooah, wo-o-o-oah

Ramy: Ain’t got a care in the world, but got plenty of fans,
Recognized everywhere, I guess I’m the man
Now the kids be linin’ up, cause they hear we got matches
But we kick ‘em off the field, less they got safetly glasses

I’m talkin’ ‘bout everybody getting’ pumped
Soccer balls getting’ dumped
Referees getting’ stumped

Now, now, we goin' 'till our voice cuts out, out
Or the DJ plays too loud, loud
Or the DJ plays too loud, loud
The DJ plays too lou-

Both: Don’t stop, lift bots up,
We’ll we winning soon enough,
Tonight, robots fight, till they re-ach Einstein
Tik tok, time’s near up,
But the robots never stop,
Oh, wo-o-o-ooah, wo-o-o-oah

Don’t stop, lift bots up,
We’ll we winning soon enough,
Tonight, robots fight, till they re-ach Einstein
Tik tok, time’s near up,
But the robots never stop,
Oh, wo-o-o-ooah, wo-o-o-oah

Chris: suspense builds up, you don’t let down
The field heats up, yeah you got me
Ramy: When bots lift up, they got it now
You got that match, yeah you won it

Both: suspense builds up, you don’t let down
The field heats up, yeah you got me
With my hands up,
Put your hands up,
Put your hands up,

Now, the party don’t start ‘till we hop in…

[Chorus Repeat x2]

-This song was written by Christopher Yoo of 503 with the help of Chris Bloom (also 503 )
