The Driver Station needs the appropriate IP address in order to communicate with the robot. To run wirelessly, try setting the wired LAN connection to use DHCP ("obtain address automatically" or something like that) and set the wireless LAN connection to use the 10.X.Y.5 address. You might also have to disable the wired connection completely to keep the DS application from trying to reconfigure it.
