FIRST Alumni living/working in NYC needed to Mentor NYC FRC Teams. Info sessions 10/

Check out over 20 NYC FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams in action at our 1st Annual Big Apple “Breakaway” Scrimmage on Saturday, October 2nd at Francis Lewis High School. This is a live off-season Invitational where you will be able to watch students and their robots play last year’s Breakaway game. You will also learn all about the programming software, mechanical components, and electronic platforms used by FIRST teams. While the event goes on, detailed information sessions will be held at 10am and 12pm in Room 146. Here you will have the opportunity to ask questions about time commitment, team locations, technical expertise, and how to become involved with a FIRST team in NYC.

We look forward to meeting you at the:
Big Apple Breakaway FRC Scrimmage
Where: Francis Lewis High School
5820 Utopia Parkway
Fresh Meadows, NY 11365
When: Saturday, October 2nd
9:00am - 3:00pm
One-hour Information sessions will be held at 10am and 12pm in Room 146.

If you are unable to attend the scrimmage but would still like to become a technical mentor for a FIRST team in NYC, please attend one of our two Technical Mentor Boot Camps listed below. Here you will gain an understanding of all of the components that make up an FRC robot. We will teach you how to wire together a complete FRC control system and the basics of programming an FRC robot in both autonomous and joystick modes. We hope to see you there!

Technical Mentor Boot Camps:
Saturday, October 9th AND Sunday, October 24th
NOTE: BOTH BOOT CAMPS ARE THE SAME - YOU ONLY NEED TO ATTEND ONE!
Where: NYC College of Technology
186 Jay Street
5th Floor, Room V508
When: 9:00am - 3:00pm
Please bring a bag lunch!

Please email Scott Statman at sstatman@usfirst.org to RSVP.
