Re: What engineering classes should I take in college?
These all sound like great suggestions guys. I'm meeting with my adviser next Tuesday to talk about my options. I'm tentatively interested in orthopedic surgery by the way and I'm interested in the whole mechanical aspect of how the body works. Keep em coming. I'll definitely look into the recommended basic classes.

Re: What engineering classes should I take in college?
For what it's worth... an undergraduate degree in bio or biomedical engineering would write your ticket into medical school. I understand that right now. it is the best way to get into medical school.
Especially if you are interested in one of the big medical schools. From an old bio/chem major... who moved into engineering... I wish I had taken this route. Frankly, most of the undergraduate level bio courses are not all that great.... They are huge... and many are a rehash of what you got in a good high school program. You will get PLENTY of biological stuff in your first year of medical school. (More like 2 years worth in one year....) i just urge you to look at biomedical engineering... Its also a great fall back in case medical school doesn't happen..for whatever reason.. thanks!! R |
