same performance specs, but the usability (moving around , bag changes, etc) and the structural stability are better with the 50-786.

Still using the proprietary bags I suspect. Ah, well, that's the way of things I guess. I saw that the -760 had some complaints about the upper bag hanger ferrule/mount. Wonder if that has been addressed?

Nothing was done to the upper filter bag mount, we actually encourage people to get the canister filter, as it is WAY better. As for bags, you can use any garbage bag you want (i recommend thick ones like construction trashbags), but the unit is supplied with 2 bags which are meant to be dumped reused.
