Re: PLEASE VOTE

On more localized issues, our votes are critical. Virginians were not only voting for Congressmen but also 3 admendments to the state's constitution. Anyone who didn't show up to vote for Congressional positions didn't get to vote for the ammendments. While some of the results were skewed one way, less than half of one percent of VA's eligible voting population made the difference on the final issue.

Virginia was nice enough to include pamphlets at the voting locations that contained the word-for-word pieces to be ammended and the proposed changes, so "I didn't do my research" really wasn't a valid excuse.

Food for thought.

You only had 3 amendments? You have it easy! Between voter initiatives, constitutional amendments, and stuff the Legislature puts on the ballot, I can't recall any time California voters had so few. Seems like we usually have a half dozen or more, a couple times per year, plus random local (county and city) measures.

Interesting Documentary about voting... Now how true do you think this is?
