Add to that past years game pieces. We've seen a huge number of circular or spherical objects in the past 10 years. I think he's trying to tell us we'll have game pieces in some way related to squares (or rectangles) this year.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. Either the game pieces will be quadrangles or some other part of the field (trailers like in Lunacy) will be. I am leaning toward the game pieces. Of course, there is no reason not to have all three FIRST shapes on the field (round, triangle, square) and the cake is just the first clue.

One thing for sure, we will all go crazy (those of us who aren't already) trying to figure it out before kickoff!

That's ok, David. If the preseason is going to be a mix of valid information and hints of hints that are hints - then it's going to result in chaos and confusion. Maybe it's all part of the 20th celebration master plan.
